i maybe think that you are a little bit of a liar. these are the reasons: a#1. i don’t think you read my blog b#2. i don’t think you want to comment on it, i know this b/c you would have commented on my regular myspace blog, which you don’t do! so email me. thanks for the turtle. i want pictures from the observatory.
January 2008
i get such a kick out of things like this
lori (colleague/boss/friend) just ordered the cutest rug from a company online and had it delivered here to work. along with the rug was a page long custom letter about how thrilled they were that someone from our office would order from their humble company. they proceeded to offer tickets for some show in march and it makes me want to order a rug! we’re kind of a big deal.
this is why i don't see movies made after books...
i am watching a snippit of children of men w/ clive owen. i have read the book, which was great. the book, however, is all golf courses and required massages and not random killing. i almost want to watch the movie just to see how much it is NOT like the book. I can’t imagine, that besides the fact that no one can conceive, is there anything similar. read the book though, it is very...

nylon magazine
am i getting older/more boring/less hip or is nylon going down the drain? this latest issue is all about london (which no one loves more than me) and it was a drab. i seriously skipped most articles w/ no intrest in going back and reading them. either way, i am a bit bummed. also, i will need to find a new magazine. thoughts?
i love it
if i was a brilliant scientist who could synthesize a bacterial genome, hell yeah i would make the secret watermark my name! what else are you going to do? give a shout out to your homies? well he did give a shout out to his research assistants, which was cool. narcissism meets genealogy….why not?

how much do you think it will go for? →
they are saying it is an estimated 300,000 to 500,000 euros. i just don’t see it going for under 1.5-2 million. with the way the auctions have been going these days, and how significant this piece of work was during that time. It isn’t just literature, it is a piece of art itself. we shall see what may 20 has to show.
it gets worse
there is like voodoo dolls, and weird dubbing of the voices. she is yelling again. and no one wears sweaters like she just was. unbelievable.
the perfect stranger
trying to watch the perfect stranger w/ kendall and we are so distracted about how EVERY SINGLE ASPECT of this movie is awful. this movie’s premise ONLY works b/c it is halle berry, or however you spell her name. no one can go into some huge huge advertising agency with the goal to bone the executive and have him notice you, unless you are her. but the editing is bad, there were some...

this is a funny kid, used to party with him at the salty seahorse. read his blog. you will like it.
this makes me angry. →
i think i am physically incapable of comprehending how people don’t enjoy reading. or, look back and regret not reading more? if i don’t read at least one book, or half of a long book a week, i feel like an idiot who is doing nothing with her time. doesn’t anyone enjoy their own imagination anymore?

but if you are going to kill your husband with anti-freeze in his food (there has to be a better way than that, i can’t imagine it tastes good) don’t tell your neighbor that last night didn’t work out so well so you are going to give it a second shot! seriously!
Daniel Day Lewis' brilliant SAG award acceptance
mascarah: I’m very proud to be included in that group of wonderful actors this year. For as long as I can remember, the thing that gave me a sense of wonderment, of renewal, the thing that teased me with the question ‘how is such a thing possible?’ and then ‘dare you go back into the arena one more time with longing and self doubt jostling in the balance?’ has always...
shows that they should bring back
instead of that awful truth show, i can think of so many that would be great. 1. supermarket sweep? how great was that show. i would stand in line for HOURS to be on that show if i could. 2. i forgot the name, but the no whammy show? also brilliant. 3. where in the world is carmen san diego? the game show or just the regular show. or the board game, i wonder where i can get that? 4....

i probably would have also liked it better if roberta smith wrote it, but hey, i am not an editor. some of these are really beautiful images. kind of wish i had been there.

5 things for today
1. my friends, their infinite patience and understanding of me. it’s great. 2. when my friends send me something like this to cheer me up. i have had two different friends, who don’t even know each other send me that link. i have great friends (see #1) 3. rozan just told me i dress really well. while that is a superficial thing, she didn’t have to say that, she was just being...

obviously they never took j.j.’s class at ucsb that emma and i did. do not buy looted artifacts! is everyone dumb? did they not see what happened to the getty? is STILL happeneing to the getty? that is a sure-fire way of getting yourself stuck in a position of forced resignation and in turn never being able to work in any museum again!
i heart cheese →
this is funny, b/c on friday night before the chromeo show we went to luna park and they took SO LONG to seat us that they gave us free fondue. i was a bit tipsy and asked if it was cheese (linds and phil both looked at me like i was crazy and then i realized what a silly question, hold off on the wine). needless to say it was very tasty and i was thinking about it all weekend. that and the...
boy eats girl
there are two reasons i LOVE LOVE LOVE bad zombie/scary/vampire/werewolf movies, especially if they are from abroad. this one takes place in ireland! boy eats girl is about a boy who is in love with a girl and then by accident (kind of his mom’s fault) hangs himself and his loving mother brings him back to life! but then she messed up the ritual and he is a zombie, and he wants to eat...
papercuts
i seriously must average about one a week. i just got a really bad one. i walk around with bandaids on my fingers like michael jackson. i just learned how to link words…very exciting.
Drinking Customs and Vessels at VMFA →
It really is amazing the things that people study. To create a lecture on something of this nature would require hours upon hours of research. Interesting research, really though. Imagine it, not only do you get to look through images, sculptures, objects, the “vessels” themselves, but you are probably also reading texts of celebrations, poetry describing intimate dinners, religious...

forbes has a WHOLE SECTION DEVOTED TO LISTS! do you know how cool that is? i could stay on this forever!
another day, another 5
1. jonesey’s jukebox getting replayed at 6 so i can listen to it on the way home and while i am looking for parking. 2. bon jovi coming on the radio every once in a while. 3. the rain, b/c tomorrow it will be so nice to breathe that air! 4. wikipedia, it is so helpful 5. when you can crack your back when you need to, just did, and it was glorious. kind of freaked out lori though.

i'm so in vogue. so shiny and trusted. →
my new issue of vogue is in my purse, can’t wait to get to this article. you would think they would be able to think of something better. you would also think that maybe they could come up with some sort of creative styling for the cover.
fbi sweatshirts
i saw a guy today wearing an fbi sweatshirt and i wondered, if you were actually in the fbi would you wear your sweatshirt around? are people allowed to know? and do they have an fbi headquarters here? then i saw the guy at the coffee bean. i think he might be a westwood crazy.
the guy at whole foods
totally just made my day when i was checking out: whole food dude: i like your hair me: really? i feel like i look like i have been electrocuted (i do) wfd: nope, it’s great, it’s different it’s you. you have to do what you want to do. don’t follow everyone else, b/c soon they will be following you! how sweet was that?

and this might also be the first time i read something about carl where they didn’t mention the dropped murder charges. \ that being said, i adore tim hawkinson and carl andre, who helped me take a computer to my car and said “helping a pretty girl is the highlight of my day”. yes he wears overalls everyday, but he has impecable manners.
George Michael, muse.
Under the incredibly classy headline “Do you really need another £200 meal, porky George?” Britian’s Daily Mail takes George Michael to task for, er, not being as thin as he was twenty years ago. ”“Millionaire singer George Michael wears his wealth on his girth - as the well-fed star was seen leaving a restaurant last night, begging the question, does he really need...
5 things i am thankful for
b/c we(the royal we) don’t want to end up like heath, here are five things i am thankful for: 1. no traffic on the way home from work last nigh b/c everyone else had off! i got home in about 20 minutes! 2. caito being on gchat right now, she sent me the most delicious cookies last week and i just found out that she made the recipe up! unbelievable! 3. a busy morning here at work, hopefully...
bad things come in threes...
if first it was brad renfro, now heath ledger…who is next? and a conversation with emma: hyde: how are you feeling? (she is sick) emma: doped up? hyde: but not heath ledger doped up right? come on hyde, tacky.

it was an apartment "owned by mary kate olsen" →
so i am thinking this was probably an accident (b/c i have such grand insight to someone i have never met, not have any idea what his life was like) b/c why would you want to off yourself in someone elses apartment? i think that he took some happy relaxy pills before the masseuse came and took a few too many. this is very sad, he was very talented and had a beautiful child. so, about alex...
