the ucla extension brochure doesn’t have many good classes. there is one lecture that i would like to go to about the history of art fairs/biennals (taught by someone who used to work w/ my scary old boss…weird) and one that the same lady is doing on thie 2008 whitney biennal. the latter could be good, but from everything i have read from critics i respect, i heard the whole thing sucked. i don’t want to pay $75 to go to a lecture and be lied to about how au currant the whole thing was. also, the only physics class they have is basic, and for $400+ i don’t want to be taught stuff i already know. they do have a class about spacecraft systems design and analysis whichsounds kickass BUT i don’t have my BS. i will look into sitting in on that lecture though, i mean if i am not taking it for credits who is going to stop me from learning!? everything else is awful, how to be a screenwriter, painting 2, restaurant management…i want a good ‘ole lecture series where i take notes and read books. i don’t think it’s weird, but apparently it is b/c ucla extension DOESN’T seem to cater to me at all…bummer.
