Olafur Eliasson Yellow Fog 1998
Congratulations to Olafur Eliasson, whose Yellow Fog is now going to be a new and permanent addition to the facade in the center of Vienna, courtesy of Verbund. We all know how I feel about public installations and Olafur Eliasson’s work so you can imagine how excited I am about this. At dusk, fog is emmitted through grates in the ground on intervals for an hour, and through the grates yellow light is shown and broadcast using the fog as its visual canvas.. There are so many sensory aspects to this piece, tangible, visual and probably auditory that transcend this piece to be an all-encompassing experience.
