Art crush of the day: Cy Twombly Untitled 2007
A few things I forget about some art when I am perusing the internet:
- Cy Twombly’s pieces are huge. I need to get to BCAM this weekend and check the ones they have on loan from the Broad Foundation. This time, try not to cause any trouble.
- Cy Twombly turns 80 this year. That means he made these pieces when he was 79. Intense.
- I heard from a trusted source that Julian Schnabel named his son Cy after Twombly. It makes sense.
- If you find yourself in Bilbao, the Guggenheim Bilbao is doing a major retrospective on him, guaranteed to impress.
