We wouldn’t categorize Julien Claessens as a fashion photographer so much as a photographer who’s subject is sometimes fashion oriented. You can’t argue with his sense of composition or eye for light and dramatics, and those are two things one can easily find backstage at a fashion show. Verushka is one of my all time favorite models. I am willing to bet most of your favorite fashion shots involved her, nobody could or will ever be able to pose like she can. There is a great little blurb about her on style.com right now in celebration of her new book being published through Assouline. She is also a scene stealer in one of the more iconic scenes in flim history (see photo) in the beginning of a truly classic movie that I suggest all of you rent/own/netflix/beg/borrow/steal.
