Christo and Jeanne-Claude Wrapped Coast – One Million Square Feet, Little Bay, Sydney, Australia, 1968–69
I have never seen this one before and it looks almost as if the fabric is trying to protect the coast from the pounding waves. A futile effort, but noble at the same time. Beautiful.

Mystery solved. Found out after badgering LACMA on twitter that the piece has not only a name, but an artist.
Choi Jeong-Hwa Welcome 2009
I will still refer to it as Christo-Lite. Similar but different from Crystal Light. Similar, in the sense that it is refreshing to see on a summer day. Different, because it is not nearly as delicious.

LACMA is starting installation for their upcoming Your Bright Future: 12 Contemporary Artists from Korea
exhibition that opens June 28. Molly and I got to see the beginning of this piece, HappyHappy and the Christo-lite ribboning of the museum itself. However, no matter who I ask or where I look, I can’t find any info on the Ribbon piece. Tres frustrating.

Matt Hope 5 Kilometres of Steel Coil 2009(ish)
I’m really excited about this piece if it ever gets built. It’s like a hyper-industrial Christo.
I love that there is no limits for his imagination, he doesn’t think about money or time or how it’s going to be built, he just knows if he can think it up he can create it. It also helps being in China where the resources are available. He asked me to visit him so…starting up the ”Let’s send Hyde to China Fund!!!”
