About

I consider myself an artful blogger. What more can I really say?

Congratulations to Richard Wright, the 2009 Turner Prize winner!
I don’t want to brag, but did I call it or what?
Now, if you are in London, you owe it to yourself (and to me, remember I did you that favor one time?) to go check this out at the Tate, it’s up until January 3, 2010*.  Also, while you are there, check out John Baldessari’s show which is up for a little bit longer at the Tate Modern until about mid-January.
People are shocked by the decision, but as I said before, there would inevitably be a backlash to the grandiose and shocking installations to something that is truly beautiful to look at.  We also know that Larry has his back, so that never hurts.
*Whoa. 2010.  Freaks me out.

    Roger Hiorns Seizure 2008

When do they announce the Turner Prize? I am getting antsy.

Side note: I don’t think it will be Hiorns who receives it this year, I think it will be Richard Wright. They haven’t chosen anyone so subtle this year and Larry Gagosian is pulling hard for him, and why not? It would make him even more money wouldn’t it?  I love Hiorns, but it seems a bit obvious.
