I have been looking for this artist for years. Not even kidding, I first read about her when she was shortlisted for the Turner Prize, promptly lost whatever reading material that the article was in and haven’t seen anything by her since.
I don’t think it’s a secret that I love art incorporating letters/words/sentences the like, but when she does it, her straightforwardness really hits me. Sometimes, they are handwritten, and the labor of love is just moving, other times (like above) it is stenciled or printed, but the choices of font, composition (both senses of the word) and color all work together so harmoniously, it is impossible to think of the text in any other form.
Fiona Banner. I will not forget her name again. Also, excuse me if I post like 5 things because I am on overload excitement time.
